I picked up this old Bridgeport mill and Clausing lathe last month.
The motor on the power feed for the Bridgeport needed rebuilt and the DRO needed to be trashed. They both are very tight and work well.
A little love, new DRO and some tooling and we can now make things. e7ee120a14ee1c04ee554ee85632ab72.jpg39ced2353ad6d85609a07bcae287a6a7.jpgdf1222e2850994b3b975ee5c25dafa03.jpg0478b3fe8f276f72ef2deba85a7431ed.jpg

Nice score.

I love Clausing lathes and that BP looks pretty clean, a couple of small dings, drill dimples or tool strikes on the table but nothing major. What size is the BP table? Looks like around a 9x42 or maybe a 9x49?

Lathe size? Possibly a 14x40?

9x42. It’s in good shape but not perfect. It did however come with a complete extra J head, motor and all the parts.
The lathe is a 1960 13x36

Those are nice sizes for most machine work in our home shops. My lathe is 13x40 and my mill is 9x35 and so far I have been able to do any work that I have needed to although I'm sure I will be up against the work envelope at some time.
