Mill & Lathe Swap Meet

I don't know if this is a kosher thing to post, but I'll give it a shot.

I, like many of you here, will occasionally rebuild a machine tool, a mill or lathe or what have you. And as such, I will have need for parts that aren't often available on places like eBay or Craigslist.

Some of you may either have those pieces, or know somebody who does, or may at some point run across some for sale that aren't directly accessible to GJ-at-large.

So I propose a thread that's kind of like a running swap meet. If you run across a part at a garage sale or flea market or whatever, you can list it here, or post that you're looking for such-and-such a part.

This is mostly for odd and obscure parts- if you have a bunch of South Bend or Atlas parts to sell, might be better to list those on eBay or something. I'm thinking a thread more like "Hey, I have this [obscure model of lathe] and could use a [unusual part] does anyone have one or know where I can get one?"

Leading off, I'm rebuilding a '43 Springfield 16" Lathe, and would really like to find a complete factory taper attachment for it. I do not know if TA's from bigger Springer machines would work, but if one is located we'd just have to swap some measurements to find out.

I have a TA on the machine, but it's an older Lodge & Shipley assembly. If I find an original Springfield part, the L&S assembly will be up for sale or trade.

If anyone did run across a Springfield getting parted out (definitely not commonly seen, hence the reason for this thread :D ) there's several other parts I'd like, depending. Like a threading dial, the feed clutch handles off the apron, possibly an oil pump, a factory micrometer carriage stop, and other parts.

52 tooth change gear.

As I recall, its 10 pitch, about 3/4" thickness, maybe 5/8" or 3/4" bore. McMaster didn't have any, Boston Gear didn't have any.

Waterjet would cost about as much as a custom gear and still need finish filing. It would be fun to try making one but I'd have to either rough the teeth with holes and file to fit, or use the lathe chuck for a "dividing head" and run the lathe tool sideways like a poor man's shaper. Either way a ton of work... while our 3 little boys nibble at my kneecaps!

If you know the pitch and tooth count, you might be able to find an off-the-shelf gear at some place like Boston Gear. Most lathes had pretty generic change gears, and apart from some pitches going obsolete over the years, not much has changed on 'em.

I may be inheriting a Jet unit soon. Seems to be missing a chuck and vice, at a minimum.

-Mill, I assume? Both are commonly available from the aftermarket. I kind of intended this thread for the obscure stuff. :D

Slim chance but anything for my newly bought Henry Ernault Somua AC280 lathe.
Faceplate, steadies, taper turning attachment, alternate change gears for more thread pitches.
The one disadvantage of buying an uncommon machine is accessories are really hard to find.

Gotcha. It's all obscure to me, I've never owned or used a mill.

It's a Jet JMD-18 mill/drill. Mixed reviews online, but it'll be free to me (it's coming from my company, barely used, and mostly for plastic). I'll probably use it more as a drill press than a mill.

My dad is a retired machinist/toolmaker (yes, I know there's a difference, he was both at different times in his career), he can probably help.
