A little buildup to the rumor I heard: Was looking for 4" stainless wire wheels yesterday for work- needed them NOW. After a little goose chasing the local Airgas was the next closest option. Stopped in and they had what I needed. They also had a MillerMatic 190 marked down to $829.

I asked the counter guy what the deal was and he said Miller is retooling the 141, 190, and 211 (1 machine to replace them all I think) and coming out with something less expensive than the 215 and still multi process. I didn't have much time and am reading between the lines a little but just wanted to pass on what I heard and maybe a good deal too. Posting welder-specific in Hot Deals.

I've seen an ad video for an AC/DC CC/CV MIG TIG and Stick all in one. If they can keep the price around $2500 or so they'll sell a shitload of them.

If they weld at all well I'll buy one for my field service rig.

If I would have looked at their facebook page earlier I would have seen that video. It popped up in my feed today. The multiprocess thing seems OK- I just don't want to buy into it without using it first. It seems like it's easy (and quick) to switch between processes I'd just like to see how it works out in practice. I'll have to admit the lack of AC has made the decision to hold off on buying easy. Now the question is do I want to be limited to a 10lb spool?

The smaller spools are fine for portability. It takes a bit of welding to run through 10 or 12 pounds of wire. I run the big spools wherever I can, but in a small rig it doesn't make sense as far as packaging goes.

You do save some money per pound with the bigger spools, but unless you're running a fab shop the difference is pretty small.

You make a great point. I'm looking at it from my standpoint at work where I am currently renting an XMT 304 with feeder to run some 33lb spools of buildup and hardfacing wire.

I can't see a reason why I'd need more than 10lb spools at home. Now Lincoln has the 210MP back down to $999- makes me want to grab one. I'm wondering if they have a counterpunch to this new Miller and if there's going to be a bunch of new stuff at Fabtech or if it'll happen sooner.

Well. If I get my shoes and go get in the car and drive somewhere to look for something..and it's under $19.99.9925. I'm taking it home !
If I get home and find it at XXXmart for $13.99 I damn sure aint putting my shoes back on, getting in the car, driving back, waiting for a manager to issue a refund, driving anywhere else to save $672 cents...but I might be an idiot. My mom always said I was

I think Lincoln packaged too much stuff with the 210, didn't offer any variants and ran the price right up. I haven't seen one for $999, where are you seeing that? That's why I bought an ESAB mig only machine. $850 with the current rebates.

That would be my guess on the price drop if it's true. I am a pretty dyed in the wool Lincoln man too. I think it's competitive pressure from ESAB on that line and price point. I haven't seen the *** for tat approach from Blue versus Red in the sub 2000 buck area. I think Yellow may be making a dent there.
