Thinking about purchasing a Harbor Freight welding cabinet.
http://www.harborfreight.com/welding/welding-accessories/welding-cabinet-61705.html

HF currently has a coupon for $149. I like the idea of the Northern Tool model with the lower draw verses the HF flip up lower panel, but Northern is about 850 miles down the road, and freight puts it out of the running.

Can any Miller 211 (transformer) owners advise if the Miller 211 side access panel opens without hitting the lip on the top shelf of the HF model ?

I have the inverter version which I believe is wider and it works fine. The biggest problem with the HF cart is that welding line interferes with the handle. I would have preferred the size of the open cart that would've worked with the transformer version.

Looks like the HF cart is 14 1/2'' wide. My 211 is 10 1/2'' wide and the bottom door edge is 3/4'' above the shelf. I don't see a problem opening the door.
The HF specs do not state how high the lip is above the shelf. You could try calling and ask. That could be interesting. :bounce:

The lip is about 7/8" high. Let me know if you need other measurements.

My lincoln 140HD has several inches of room in all directions. You could always set the machine up on a sheet of thin plywood if the access panel wouldn't clear the lip. I'm pretty sure just about any machine that fits the footprint will work without modification though. It's a short lip.

Hope this helps.
