Miller 211

Is there any way to modify the miller 211 welder so that I can leave my mig gun and the spool gun attached?

Ayuh,.... So how does the spool gun attach to the welder on that machine,..??

I've got a big ole Lincoln 200 wire-feed, that I leave the spool gun doubled up on the big copper power studs,...
Mounted an ole snap-on side-cab to the welder, to hold the spool gun,...

I just gotta swap the gas lines on the regulators, 'n at the front of the welder to go from steel, to aluminum,....

You have to remove the mig gun and insert the spool gun into the socket where the mig gun was located, I would like to find a replacment socket and add it to my welder or cart.

The practicality on that machine is a bit limiting. The feature you are looking for is called "Gun on demand". Unless you are running solid steel wire in the spool gun you will have to change out your shielding gas tanks as well as disable the solenoid feed to the non used gun when welding. The larger machines have the "gun on demand" feature, such as my millermatic 210, but this is accomplished by two individual gas solenoids and thus two gas inputs on the back of the machine each being actuated by their respective gun connection on the front of the unit.

Could you modify the 211 for gun on demand? Probably, but it may be more effort than what it is worth.

The 30A has its own built in gas valve. Without splicing wires and what not, I don't see how you could plug both in without adding another receptacle. Not impossible but kind of impractical.
