It's looking like my new ironman230 will be here next Tuesday. I'm pretty stoked. I haven't decided if I want to buy a spoolgun for it or a cheap Tig I know a Tig would do a little more but I can't afford a good one for quite a while I'm ok with used but still not much luck so any opinions? Just get the spoolgun and call it a day or keep looking for a Tig?

Depends on what you will be welding, spool guns are usually rated down to about 14ga material, it can be done on 16 but burning thru is a real problem on light material. I personally wouldnt do alum unless I had to, do the fit and find a bud with tig when needed.

Ya having somebody else do it would be the smart thing to do but I'm just not that sorta guy. Lol. But realy as far as aluminum I can't picture myself welding anything thinner then 16 gauge anyway and I figure if I go that route I can buy the small rolls of stainless wire and use the spoolgun for it. Does that make sense as a logical thing to do? Maybe I'm just excited about my new toy.

They say they will but I just wanted to make sure. Also I was gonna order a roll of .035 and a roll of .030 does that sound good to you guys or do you think I should just order 2 rolls of one of those sizes
