Hey everyone, picked up a late 90's Miller Bobcat 225G. Has the Kohler 18hp engine with 3500 hours or so. Runs good, and welds so thats good. Question is, sometimes when you go to start it there is nothing(no clicking, no engine rotate, straight up nothing) turn the switch back and turn it back to start it, and it cranks and starts. Could it be the switch? Also noticed when you go to shut it down, if you are in the idle position, when you turn it to off, it tries to rev up for half a second before it shuts down. Any ideas? Welder hasnt been used in about a year or so, but kept inside.PXL_20210728_122902133.jpg

Those are good machines havent had any issues with mine.
My guess is that if your battery and cables are good, its the switch or connections at the starter.
Easy to replace the switch most of the panels are just screwed on.
Those kohler engines need the valves adjusted every now and then.
