I came across this MAC Tools 9/16" combination wrench and saw "Miller Industries" marked on the back. It appears to have been made that way as the model number was moved down to accommodate for the name and the font is a perfect match. The box end is slightly offset (could be from damage?). Does anyone know the story behind this one?

It seemed to me the Miller Industries from Canton Ohio is the most likely candidate, due to proximity to Sabina, but 1928 might be a bit early. They moved to Richmond, VA before 1938. MAC tools was formed in 1938 as MTF, then reformed as MAC in 1945, so the proximity is gone by then

-I worked for Miller Industries as a tooling engineer under contract. I suppose it's possible they once had an arrangement with MAC to offer it as an OEM tool kit for the various brands under the corporate umbrella, "house branding" for tools is only one inserted stamp away in the press and not uncommon. I never saw or heard of this while at Miller but that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

I wonder if the name was hand stamped. I've never seen a Mac that was branded for someone else. The part number is in a weird position either way. Aren't they usually in the middle with lines ==== on either side?====, if not on the front?
