miller multimatic 200

Do any of you guys out there have experience with the miller multimatic 200?

Probably the one ability I want it to do is MIG Braze, I am guessing that it would function fairly well on 115v. Considering the melting point of braze wire would require less electric to function.

It's a great welder, on my short list of a new welder if I was to buy one.

But what is MIG brazing? Been welding 50 years, never heard of it.

There is nothing special about the Multimatic that allows it to mig braze. I'm not a huge fan of compact multi process machines sub ~$3K as they throw AC tig out the windoe. You might also want to check out Lincoln's competition to that, the MP210 for about 2/3 the price. It's the same class of a DC only multiprocess feeder.

I have used a multi 200 for lift arc tig on stainless pipe. It works fine. I would think it would be a good welder if you only want low amp DC.

If a guy is hauling around I am not sure how important 2 processes is. If I am tiggin pipe then its probably not a job I need a feeder on.
Here again the Tig question pops up and while there are occasions for DC tig,,, what I mean its usually a pretty deliberate venture then it has its place but the workhorse in a general shop is feeder and I like a stick for field work so now that they invent one the size of a small lunchbox I would want 2 machines. Without tig its quite a bit less I believe, a 211 and a MaxstarS would be the 2 hobby or maint machines on the top of my list. For 2 large could have the best of it all brand name, I aint had to DC tig a thing since I left the trades and even the alum work has been replaced with a spooly.
Toss in about any genset and you have a portable welder.

I visit my dealer for a quote tomorrow.
My primary aim is for it to MIG braze, my dealer was contacting Miller today to find out possibility. He thinks it should have no issues with .030 bronze wire. There has been some instances where using a tig welder on the chassis where it has been bronze welded and that does not lead to happy out comes.
I have a Dynasty 200 and there has been some cases where I would have been better with a MIG at the track. Not many but a couple would have been easier to just mig it.

I went to a snap on welder training class, and they have a mig welder that is overly simple and will run Steel, SS, Al with spool gun and will do bronze wire for mig brazing. This session was done by an employee of the firm that produces the Snap on welding line for SO. To **** two pieces of metal together and hit it with bronze wire it has much less distortion since bronze melts at 1700 not at 2400. It is a process I want to offer along with other trackside services I provide.

Got my quote.
We spoke to Miller customer service and the machine is a perfect platform for Mig brazing.
I have the option of .023, .030 or .035 Si-Bronze wire.
They have a few adapters to allow use of my current tig torch and foot pedal to work with machine. (less duplication to take to track)

Will be ordering this next week. Just ordered a krl1033 today.

I went with .023 in SS, steel and Si Bronze but Al spool gun where I am running .030.
The box without wire and mig gun weights less the 20lbs.
