Howdy,
Thinking about getting this multi process welder. Does any one have one or have used one? Just wondering if it is crappy for mig but ok for tig or vise versa. Sometimes multi function equipment does all ok but none real good.
Thanks for all who reply.

I have personally never used one. But a syncrowave is a tig based machine, so it probably leans toward tig.

As far as I know, you need a spool gun or a VS feeder to run wire welding of these. They don't have an integrated feeder.

By the time a guy gets the rest of the stuff he could buy a complete modest unit. Now,,,,, for most people with the most being put in in case the odds were wrong if he doesn't have a 210 class feeder he needs one and it should be the first machine. I could actually do about 99% of the work with one and have at some points.
These are the workhorses in small general repair and fab shops. Do most any work that needs done or added to cars or trucks.

If I looked at the correct machine, the 210 mig part is SPOOLGUN .
Depends on what type of work you plan on doing. A dedicated machine for your choice of process gets my vote. A mig gun instead of a spoolgun maybe more practical for most work.

I ran the Syncrowave 210 when it first came out and it is a nice TIG machine and stick welds too.
I would NOT call it multiprocess.
You always compromise with multiprocess and MIGing with a SW210 would be a serious compromise in my opinion.
If you want to TIG then I think it would be fine.
If you want to MIG steel look at a Millermatic 210.....awesome machine!

I have a Syncrowave 210 and only use it for Tig welding awesome little machine. If you’re looking for a Tig welder, aluminum spool gun maybe occasionally a spool of steel it would be a great machine. For mig I have a miller 252 and it doesn’t get any better than that.

The 252 has a lot of poop, it is a premium machine. Another one on my short list due to cost would be a Hobart IM230. For a 1 wire one process small shop it is pretty good. Has a lot more poop than the 200 class and uses a full size spool of wire.

I already have a hobart 190 for Mig welding. What are the top tig machines that would allow for steel and aluminum? Is the syncro one of them?

The Dr has a 200 dynny. A plus is that not only are they great they are portable and even run on 120V. I havnt used a new 210 synch and forget the difference between the new and the old, I think the fundamental output is the same as they were though.
I have a 300, used it some when I got it, finally made good use for it as a cart for a Hobart with spooly and the plasma.
