Miller welding is running a good special through the end of May.

5% off a welder if bought alone.

15% off a welder plus $150 in accessories.

I'm picking up a 180 with spoolgun and cover for $1048 plus tax. Less the 15%, I'm at $890 plus tax. That's only $70 more than the equivalent Hobart model.

I'm buying local because I guess I'm a sucker for that. IOC has the best price on the net that I found at $1044 without the $45 cover.

Look at the Miller 211. More bang for not much more and it is dual voltage 110/220.

The 211 was $200 more at the local shop. Went with the 180, tough call to make - really debated it, figured this was enough and I haven't really pushed my old Hobart 180 to its limits in the 10 years I've had it.

Got the welder for $805 and the spoolgun for $211. Splurged and got the Miller cover for another $35.

First project will be an aluminum welding cart - figure that should be an easy project to learn on.
