I bought a cheap HF-type unit. They all seem to be sturdy enough... and I don't think any of them are made in north america so no point in paying a premium.

They are built pretty decent, I intend on eventually buying one that they make for my plasma cutter, anymore it's almost as cheap to buy a prebuilt one as it is to buy the materials and make one.

I always thought it was some right of passage or something...to have your first project be a welding cart.

Best mig welding car available IMO. I looked all around and decided this was the only one that would satisfy me.

It usually runs around $130-$150 but it was well worth it IMO. I am very happy with it. It is the MM-8.

I bought a "used" MM175 about a year ago and the guy game me that cart with it. It is kinda chinsy in my opinion - it really isn't sturdy. You'd better off building one for yourself. I've been using it only cause I've been lazy and haven't built one yet, but plan to @ some point.

Don't wast your $ on it unless they are giving it to you for free in the deal.

This is one of their products worthy of taking a chance on it. I agree  (I do not own one, but I have eyeballed them, they looked alright to me)

Now that thing is a beauty. If you work in a shop and use your welder everyday.... taht's your welding cart.

And for the price... damn, that's not bad! Wonder if they are made here in the USA....

I have a Miller cart under my Lincoln welder. Small wheels dont like anything but smooth floor. Have looked at the HF cart and like it. They are about the same quality of metal and construction; save the $$ and buy the HF unit.

Thanks, I think so too. I will get a picture of my actual setup posted soon. I will look for any signs of where it is made. I removed the original sticker though so I may not be able to find which country makes it.

I also have that Miller cart. Bought it with my MM140. It's cheep and crappy. Don't waste your money.

+1 for building your own.

My MM135 came with one like what was shown in post #1. It's out-of-square, and very unimpressive. I have a friend that has the HF unit... I like the HF one much better.

I'd build my own but I'm too busy working on the Chevy.

I have the Astro I think it is same as the HF unit...

In my 2 car garage it needs to move 12 feet max though.. :D

But I used to put it in the shed 100 ft away and didn't have much dramas. The wheels mark a little when new but it is all broken in now. It's got more space to hold gloves, welding blankets, 2 grinders and helmet in the shelfs than the shorter style from the OP.

you could build your own but it will cost more for just the steel.. it depends what you use it for.
