millermatic 175 help

I just picked up a milermatic 175 that the seller said would spark but not hold an arc. When I got it home I found that it does not power up at all. I can see evidence that some wires have been messed with. Here is what I suspect. The power switch was disconnected and reconnected improperly. I have two spade connectors on on spade lug and none on another. It is a double pole single throw switch. Does anyone happen to have a schematic for this thing?

For those that care. It turns out that he not only miswired the switch, he also switched some wires on the circuit board. That took some digging to figure out. Anyway, it now turns on and feeds wire. I just need to go after his original complaint of no steady arc. That should be fairly straightforward by comparison.

I could still get you the correct drawing if you would post the serial number. Miller has all that info available on their site.

Turned out to be just a worn contact tip.

I sold one on Marketplace earlier in the fall for $550. That seemed to be the going rate, or maybe $50 less. Of course there were those that were asking $1500, which is about what a new 201 was going for after rebate at the time.

Never liked that machine.

I got it for $150 off marketplace. The owner was obviously very frustrated.

What did you not like about the machine. I haven't done much with it as I normally run a Powcon with suitcase wire feeder or stick.

I’ve had a MM175 for a few years now. I bought it cheap (<$100) from a pawn shop because it was missing parts. Another $75 in drive parts and it’s been a great welder for my needs.
