Ok, trying to clean up and rehab my Buck Rogers MF 100 push drill. It’s in pretty good shape, except the bits that are stored in the handle are … secure. I will post a report on what I do … need help with one part. Can’t get the jaws out of the barrel. Looks like you depress the two buttons on the side … can't get that to work. Any ideas?

I got it taken down and cleaned, problem is that i buffed most of the plating off the shaft. If i can get the jaws out, i plan to replate it.

I tried using a pair of spark plug wire pliers to depress the studs. I used a dremel to make the ends slightly smaller so they would engage the pins. I can see the pins move a little, but not enough to come out.

This guy may get you going. I have not read all the details yet, but seems he has the same issues you have. May have to read the whole thread to get all the answers, he's not giving them away in the first post.

Since the last step is to re-plate the shaft, i guess i could do that and plate the jaws at the same time, then buff the plating off the jaws.

Tell us that up front, save us wasting time posting things you already know. ;)
Well … i posted here looking for input from denizens of this forum. I hope you don’t think this is the only forum i read.

I have done several google searches for info, looked at a couple of worthless youtube videos, and i’m stymied. Two-blocked. Stalled. My plan du jour is … i ordered a second matching drill off ebay, found one for $10. It’s in fair condition, in the pictures it looks like the chuck is intact. It’s going to be a parts donor and autopsy specimen.
