millers falls 125 made in romania

Been trying to find out any info available on this vise.
After starting clean up process I discovered that the original casting was filled with what appears to be bondo, body filler and then painted, unmatched color. Any info available on something like this and possible manufacture date? Thanks

• Most York vises were made in the Czech Republic and were the original inspiration for the Wilton vise in the early 1940's. York made the castings and the vises were sold in Romania un-branded to Millers Falls and other companies, Others on Garage Journal site have reported having a Millers Falls Vise that was unmarked and had a Romania cast on the side..I just can't date it.

I would have to guess maybe 1956 - 1972?

From 1956-1972 it was modeled 125 from 1973 -1988 it was marked as 125A Really no way to tell for sure

Where are you getting those dates? Do you have some secret stash you aren't sharing? I can't find it in any other catalogs at the link I sent this morning.

Just searching the threads here on this site and york history. There is a thread on here from house with pictures and dates supposedly from york.

The link from 1981 looks odd to me because the model number 80 appears to be on the right hand side. All I have ever seen had manufacture on the right and model on the left.?
