These are a set of mechanical bottle jacks I made that I used in millwright work, that someone may find handy.
They are made of **** weld pipe reducers, a hex nut, hex head bolt, and a ball bearing. The nut is welded on top of the bell reducer, and a hole is drilled into the center top of the bolt head, deeper than one half the ball diameter. The area around the ball is ***** punched to capture the ball, but still allow it to turn freely.
These things are pretty powerfull, and can be made with either coarse or fine thread bolts. They work in all positions, and are great for forcing machines and assemblies into position. Also used for pushing large pins into and out of equipment.
