Milton 1/4 air chuck failure

My son was home from college over Thanksgiving and did an oil change and tire rotation on his car. Even though I have preached not to drop the air hose, he did and the air chuck exploded. Luckily no one was hurt and no damage was done even though the broken piece shot across the garage.

I've seen that happen before. Those things live almost forever but it seems that it can take the perfect hit and they crack or break. Reminds me of back in my early days of painting I had an air fitting break as I was painting a car. Yeah I had to fix a door because the air hose slapped it 276 times before I got smart enough to step on the hose and grab it lol.

A British company called PCL have made in England units.

They are great.

Never seen one break like that. Milton is a very good brand in my book

Are there any obvious material defects on the fracture surface? Milton might replace them regardless. Worth looking up their customer service on the web and sending in an inquiry....

Milton is junk, it's just one step above the no name stuff you'll find at the hardware store. It's brand that's been around forever that everyone seems to use, at one time they may have actually made a decent product. It's much the same as Monroe or Fram though.
