Milton Air Chuck Rebuild?

I have a couple of Milton Air Chucks (1/4" NPT female) that are leaking at the valve. Is it possible to rebuild these? How hard do they come apart, tool needed (~5/8" screwdriver socket bit), and type of seal inside (o-ring or washer?)?

They are not expensive, but it would be nice to not scrap them. Any feedback is appreciated.

Is the valve threaded like a tire valve? You may be able to just snug it up.

not much to them, sort of an o ring type washer l that may be difficult to source

NAPA used to sell a kit to rebuild air chucks. I rebuilt one a long time ago with a kit.

Google "Milton Air Chuck Repair Kit" and you will get all the information you need. I used a large screwdriver on that job, but I later took a piece of flat bar and made a better fitting driver. I put the tool in a vise and turned the air chuck.

I got Milton seals/washers (#500-6) for my #699 air chucks and repaired them. The new seal was smaller than the originals. I had to use Teflon tape on the cap threads to get a seal. Good to have them repaired. I used a flat bar to open the cap. Thanks for the comments.
