I have been wanting to replace my Dewalt cordless hammer drill kit. It has served me well. I would assume that it qualifies. Which cordless hammer drill from the list do you guys recommend?

Huh... too bad I've got 3 batteries already, I'm mostly wanting bare tools, but a -21 kit sounds ok too. Wonder what my odds of finding a Fuel grinder, sawzall, or 1/2" high torque impact 1-battery kit in a brick & mortar store before Halloween are.

No craftsman :( Can't say this deal is going to do me much good.

I found a hitachi kit for $20 on craigslist so saving $80 aint bad.

I think their argument would be that Craftsman and Ryobi don't directly compete with them (and I'd agree).

The wording is a bit vague on if I could trade in V28? It says Nicad and V18 (14.4V or higher).

Craftsman and Ryobi are also house brands.

Ya know I guess it wouldn't make a lot of sense for them to take Ryobi or Ridgid because of TTI (and of course neither are listed)

I sent an e-mail to Milwaukee asking them about authorized distributors conducting this promotion and was told that Graybar is it.

Thank you for your interest in Milwaukee Electric Tool products.

This promotion is offered through Graybar. You will need to contact the distributor for further information.

These types of promotions are usually limited to a specific distributor. Milwaukee was running a similar promotion through Fastenal last month.

Currently I know that Graybar and Acme Tools are participating. I haven't researched to see if there are any others since I have both near me.

Well, never wished I lived in Minnesota before. Acme has what I want listed at $300 like elsewhere online... Graybar has a local store, but doesn't have it listed, and if they're anything like Fastenal and Grainger their off the street customer price will be > $100 over online price.

If I can 'hoof it' to do a deal for somebody here on GJ I will be happy to do so and ship the new stuff back to you. You pay actual cost for the item direct to ACME - which will include MN tax of course - and pay actual cost for shipping to me. I'd appreciate a small donation to cover my fuel cost, but I won't demand it. I'll just consider my offer 'good Karma' and repayment for the deals I've gotten from this site.

Local hose/fitting shop here local to me in Indiana happens to also sell Milwaukee. I was in there today and asked about it..they said they're doing the trade in promo until end of October.

Big places may not be doing it..but would be worth calling around in your areas to see if the small local shops/dealers are. So far I'm 1 for 1.. ;)

I appreciate the offer! Unfortunately I tossed my broken Makita drill, I have a stack of batteries but no tools, and I fear by the time I bought a broken tool, shipped it to you, paid tax and shipping, and made it worth your while, I wouldn't save much of anything.

Just to be clear, I am not expecting anything for my time. This is a 'good karma' kind of thing. If someone wanted to cover the cost of fuel for the trip (it's about 17 miles one way) I was thinking like $10. And again, it's purely voluntary.

But I understand that if you have to go find a broken tool, pack it up, ship it, etc. the deal becomes far less attractive.

Anyone know what the real difference is with the "Fuel" versions of the tools?

How about opinions/experience with the compact battery vs the XC battery? I like the size/weight of the compact, but not sure the capacity and life differences between the two battery types. I was told they have different warranty periods as well?

Absolutely, it's all over the board, mostly in General Tool Discussion.

Fuel is brushless, affords more power and longer run time. The XC batteries do the same thing to any tool. Not aware of different warranty periods.

A search will yield a lot more impressions on Fuel and XC batteries.
