I picked up a used Milwaukee 12v polisher/sander today, and it only came with one (mostly worn out) velcro sanding backing pad. I picked this up primarily to use with Roloc style discs, is there a specific adapter I need to order? Thanks!

Also, is there an adapter to use this style backing plate?

It originally comes with the velcro pad for the buffing/polishing pads a roloc adapter. Problem is stupid Milwaukee used an uncommon M9x.75 thread size which might as well be proprietary in my book. Other brands use a standard/more common 5/16-24 spindle thread. So to buy the M9 roloc adapter or original accessories pack is stupid expensive.

But there are aftermarket adapters. I bought this one for a different use but it has a 1/4-20 thread so you can use any common roloc adapter (like the one you have pictured) with it.

I use mine for buffing/polishing. I use the M12 right angle die grinder for roloc dics. I tried to use the RA die grinder for polishing/buffing but it spins way too fast & not enough torque. That's why I ended up buying the M12 polisher/sander. It will work ok for roloc stuff but the M12 RA grinder works much better for roloc accessories & better ergonomic IMO.

The 2" is most common & the 3" you have pictured, those should be 1/4" thread.
