I just ordered one of these and received it a few days ago. I had to run some screws into some studs in my garage to hang something. This thing is a dud. I was surprised. It struggles just to run a screw into studs. I have other Milwaukee cordless tools, including a 3/8 drive impact and it is awesome. Is there something I am missing with this? I used the same battery that my 3/8 drive used.

It is new, not reconditioned.

Suggestions?

Setting? As in 1-3? Had it on 3. And also put it on the screw icon, like setting 4? I suppose. The battery is red lithium m18 2.0. The battery works fine with my impact so I don't think that is the problem, unless this new impact driver was designed with using a different battery?

The screw icon is for sheet metal. Set it to 3 for the fastest speed and most power. Should do 4" 1/4" lags no problem.

From Milwaukee:

"The 4-Mode DRIVE CONTROL™ provides greater control over output speed and power for greater versatility by delivering 0-850 RPM in Mode 1, 0-2100 RPM in Mode 2, and 0-3000 RPM in Mode 3. Self-Tapping Screw Mode is designed to reduce walking when starting self-tapping screws as well as reduce overdriving, breaking, and stripping out screws."

Ok. I'll text out the 3rd setting and see how it goes.
Thanks.
