My HD has both of these in stock according to the website. For the space Im wanting to put it, 36" is the max width I can go, so both will work. Does anyone have experience with either model? Build quality, longevity, etc.

Milwuakee:
-has pegboard in top hood (can add to Husky if needed)
-integrated power strip and holder for Milwaukee chargers (can also add to Husky if needed)
-has tool holder in bottom drawer
-dont really like or need the laptop holder drawer (though I read it can taken out and made into regular drawer)
-its a Milwaukee, duh! :D

Husky:
-little bit more space (not a huge deal...right now)
-$150 less (money left over for more Milwaukee addiction)
-doesnt have pegboard in top hood (can be added)
-doesnt have integrated power strip (does have grommets and can be added)

I like the look of the Milwaukee, but I am leaning toward the Husky for the price difference, if I can modify the space I need to put it in. The main reason I like the Husky is the taller drawers to hold all my old DOE wrenches until I make full sets. The Milwaukee seems like it is built better. I don't need power stations or anything like that just looking for room to hold all my excess tools get the out of the way so I can buy more. There are plenty of toolbox reviews on youtube the Husky seems to do just fine. I have been looking around in the garage trying to brainstorm how I can make space for a 41" also.

For $200 less I would go with a Husky 36" vs Milwaukee 30" put that $200 towards some stuff to fill it up.

I've got products from both. My one complaint would be the drawers on the Husky tend to snap closed.

But I'd go with the Husky all day long given the OP's choices. More storage, a lot less $

Get the Milwaukee the husky are made cheap as hell I went with the HF 44" it's made heavy duty compared to either of the other 2 they offer a 26" or 30 something inch not sure for cheap and it's very nice id get it if I were you if you want quality and alot of drawers.

Sometimes its nice to hear what youre thinking confirmed by others instead of giving in to the Red addiction :D

Leaning towards the Husky. I can maximize the space it will be going, has more storage for future tools, and keeps some scratch in my pocket for future Milwaukee sales and deals.

Yea, the money and storage seem to be the big pluses for the Husky. The other little perks the Milwaukee has that I listed are nice, but not necessary. And easily added to the Husky in the future if needed.

Looked at the US General as well, but I like the hood on the Husky and Milwaukee and the deeper drawers on the chest on the Husky.

I have been mulling over this same option. Right now I'm more inclined towards the Husky just because of the difference in money and extra storage it offers. The larger Milwaukee just becomes WAAY too much money to be a viable option.

Yea, the larger Milwaukee would be great, but it would be a want for me, not a need. Plus I couldnt justify the additional expense for the type of use I would have for it. The 30" Milwaukee is at the top of my budget, plus its a Milwaukee, so thats why it made the list. Im not sure if I want to buy now, or wait it out to the holidays and see what sales, if any, they offer.

I looked at some of the Kobalts online, but they dont seem to have a comparable set up for the same price range. And some of the reviews of what I did see werent as good. Unless I missed something, which is possible lol

Pulled the trigger on the Husky. Picking it up tomorrow and will give some feedback over the weekend. Online said there was only 1 left, so Im assuming it may be a floor model. If it is, Im going to see if theyll give a discount when I pick it up.

I looked at newer Kobalts today The box is nice looking, but I don't like the new drawers they have some resistance when trying to open. I don't like their soft close feature I don't slam the drawers shut anyway.

Let me know how that Husky works for you seriously considering one myself.

Update: went to pick up the box, and it was the floor model like I expected. A ding here and there, and the draw liners were not in the best shape (I know its going to end up that way anyway, but I prefer doing it myself :D ) Asked the associate for a discount since it was the floor model, said they dont do that. Didnt argue, just returned it on the spot.

I received a $25 off $200 coupon in email yesterday, and called a store 20 minutes away that showed they had them in stock,. They told me they had 3, all of which were still in box unbuilt. So I went and picked one up. Got it home and when taking it out of the bed of my truck, the box strap broke on the roller box and the corner hit the driveway. Oops! lol. Figured at least I put the first ding in myself :D Opened her up and the packaging was good enough that there was no damage! I have it assembled but not loaded yet. So far impressions are great for the money ($287ish). I plan on starting to load it out the next few day and will update on how its going.

Thanks! And it sure is. For my use, the quality seems to be more than sufficient. Id personally rather spend the money on quality tools to put in it than have all my money wrapped up in the box. It wont see the use and abuse that a shop box would, so it should hold up well.

I ended up with the Milwaukee 30" I didn't feel like modifying the shelves to squeeze to the Husky 36" in. That's the only reason I got the Milwaukee, I actually would have rather had the extra $150 in my pocket. I was planning on getting rid of my Kobalt 27" since I replaced it, but I already have it full with screws, bolts, and junk drawers, but I found a place to put.

His thoughts will be he wish he had the extra 6" and 150bucks lol .

The supportive side of me says "Hope not, hope its a great box"

The selfish side of me say "Hope so, that way I know I got the better box" :D lol

Only thing I don't like about the Milwaukee is the drawer with the work station lid, I will probably remove it not using it as a diagnostic station.

I removed all the dividers out of the bottom drawer I am just putting wrench rolls in it.

Thats one of the things I didnt like about it either. If I didnt have the bench top space I have in my garage, it would be appealing, but Ive got plenty so it wasnt needed for me.

Got most of the layout done, still tweaking here and there. OCD is killing me on getting it done faster. Didnt have as much room before, so it just went where it went lol.
