Milwaukee Battery impact gun M18

I picked up a hammer drill / Impact gun combo set at HD on sale. Now I need to get the correct bits and sockets for the impact gun.

Can some recommend a standard set or am I better off buying specific sockets for my cars? Not sure if there are an industry standard size or sizes. Would you get scratch resistant type of just used blue tape to avoid damage to rims?

How do you set proper tork when tightening? I don't see a foot pounds setting. Do I need to get a torque wrench to do final tightening?

Sorry for the volume of questions in one post.

Lastly to they make drill bits and screw tips that fit this type of compression fitting? It's much lighter than the hammer drill to work with ? Any downside to this?

get a hex to 1/4" square, hex to 3/8" square, and hex to 1/2" square adapter. Those will allow you to use sockets.

Then buy impact sockets. Most cars today are metric. I'd start with 1/4" deep, then 3/8" deep, then 1/2" deep. Once you have those get the shallows. Some people on here seem to like tekton impacts they're pretty cheap too.\

For 95% of stuff you'll be okay torquing by hand/feel. Once you get used to the impact you'll get so you don't even have to do that.

I am not sure those impact drivers have enough balls to torque down wheels. You might want to just do those by hand. I wouldn't trust a 1/4 hex drive impact driver to tighten the wheels on my car. Run the lugs in and check them manually yes. but that's the only way to be safe IMO.

Do you mean impact gun (also called impact wrench) or do you mean impact driver instead? I (and I think most here) assume you mean impact driver - the 1/4" hex shank.

But if you actually mean impact gun (square anvil), let us know.
