I have a chance to buy a milwaukee 5091 1hp 10" bench grinder. Does anyone have any experience with them? Would $200 be a fair price?

It's made by Wissota and in the same league with Baldor and Rockwell grinders. It is a HUGE grinder, and runs like butter. $200 is on the high end of the range, but certainly not outrageous. I sold mine a few years ago for around that price (maybe a tad more), but mine had new wheels, original paint, and looked in slightly better shape.

I'd pay that if the seller wouldn't negotiate, but I'd try hard to get it for a little less first.

Sounds like I need to wait and see since the seller is asking $300.

If you see what people are paying for old Craftsman "block" grinders, and you placed one of those next to the Milwaukee you'd feel that the asking price of $300 was a actually a bargain. I sold mine to a guy that uses it 24/7---it's an industrial workhorse.

If you NEED a grinder, then $200 for this one is a good deal imo.
