I seem to recall seeing a thread on one of these somewhere, but I cannot seem to find it by searching. I am looking for a drywall saw, but came across this

http://www.milwaukeetool.com/tools/hand-tools/quik-lok-job-saw/48-08-0401quik-lok-job-saw, which looks pretty versatile. My other thought was a dedicated drywall saw, also from Milwaukee http://www.milwaukeetool.com/tools/hand-tools/rasping-jab-saw/48-22-0304.

Both get good ratings on Amazon. The quik lok is ~$20, and the drywall ~ $12. I guess I am looking for any downside to the quik-lok- maybe not as strong for example. Anybody with experience with either?

While not exactly like this one I have an inexpensive drywall saw that used to see almost daily use. Used almost daily for about 12 years and still running strong. Point is, don't invest a lot in a drywall saw. I assume you're not hanging rock daily or else you would know what saw already worked best for you. :)

The quickloc one uses sawzall blades which are a little thinner than a drywall saw blade. Also a drywall saw has a more pointy tip to jab into the wall. Personally I would get both! But use a drywall saw for drywall, I can see the sawzall blade bending when you are trying to jab it into the wall.
