For me it is their measuring tapes. They have to be some of the worst on the market.

I feel like their tool quality overall has gone down in the last number of years though.

It’s a bit chilly this afternoon, so I thought I’d pull my heated vest out. Dead. Changed battery, fresh off the charger. Still dead.

I have to say that this, along with a growing pile of useless batteries has me in the “Less than impressed “ camp when it comes to Milwaukee tools.

I love the M12 and M18 tool line up, but they aren’t worth **** without batteries that last.

I chose my old Pendleton wool coat, and stayed warm and comfortable.

Wishing I had another option for cordless tools that was as reliable as my old coat.

Milwaukee 2160 800Lumen flashlight **** the bed. Wont hold charge. A shame, I really liked the beam on the Milwaukee. Replaced with a Streamlight Strion HL that I should have bought in the first place.

In fairness to Milwaulkee, I swung by the factory repair depot with the defective 2160 with low expectations for warranty.. Staff was super helpful and quickly offered me a replacement. The 800 lumen is out of stock so they gave me my pick of the new replacement models. 2162 2000Lumen, 2161 1100 Lumen or 2113 Flex head.

I picked the 2162. Cant say enough good about Big M's warranty. Its pretty painless.

I still think the Streamlight Strion HL is the superior work flashlight however. Its just a more solid and better sealed light even if it isnt setting the world on fire with lumen output, its not like you need a searchlight level of output up close anyways. The charging port on the Milwaulkee lights is a huge vulnerability IMHO. Streamlights charging station is a much better idea.

Milwaukee's well documented trigger problems are inexcusable. I got hit by that on my big impact wrench and my circular saw. Both very early in their life. In the case of the impact wrench they replaced it under warranty with a refurb. Mine had only been used about 5 times and still looked brand new. The circular saw was replaced under warranty and had been fine for 2 years but now the trigger is acting up again...this time it seems to be a physical problem with the thumb safety and the trigger not working together right. The circular saw is now out of warranty....ironically those are my two most expensive Milwaukee tools.

Are you near a factory repair depot? If so, go in in person and see what theyll do, you might be surprised.

The M18 vacuum cleaner that looks like an upright vacuum. This sucker plugs up so fast you can't use it for more than 10 minutes without taking the filters out and washing them. It ***** but not in a good way.
Same here. POS!

Their 1 inch impact with the extended anvil ***** ***. I can't remove overtightened lug nuts with it with a 12.0 battery and have to resort to using the beat up old shop 1 inch impact gatling gun. It always takes them off with no issues.

In my personal experience the Milwaukee factory service is not as easy after I moved further away and maybe they got stricter at least at my location (after people started abusing the warranties?). Between drop off and pickup, X2 trips, and then there is a pickup window before you "abandon" your Milwaukee tool (which I understand they don't want repaired tools taking up precious space).

I took a look at their Eservice. Was surprised miter saws can't be e serviced, but it looks like a Milwaukee mower can be? I'm not sure if I would even attempt to stuff the mower in a box...
