Hello all, I have a Milwaukee floor jack question , I recently bought 1 (used) model 40, but have also seen pics of same model but it appears different as follows. Mine the 2 side frames are smooth steel, the other 1 has vertical ribs on the inside of the side rails , does anyone know why they made them different is. 1 an older design/newer/ better/stronger/same ?

I've owned 2 Milwaukee model 20 floor jacks. Both sides were smooth steel. I can only guess about the Model 40, but it sounds like your "older design/newer/ better/stronger/same" is probably the answer.
