It warmed up a bit so I decided to test my Milwaukee Fuel 2763 impact on the lugnuts of my semi. I am very impressed. I should have reshot the video to edit out the goofy laugh.
I also traded my old SO 4850 that had 1 good battery for SO 3/8 metric/SAE swivels and SO 1 1/8 wrench. I already had one in chrome but he threw it in. I wasn't going to use it anymore so aleast I got a good trade instead of sitting in the garage forever.

Nice!

I'm glad that the thread about broken out-of-box ones doesn't represent the majority. This is next on my list... Okay, maybe like 2nd or 3rd, I think I want the Fuel circ saw first, and I already have the 3/8" M18 Fuel gun.

Mine has been good so far. I tried mine on semi lug nuts right out of the box and your laugh us right on the money. Mine is also excellent on the battery I have not had to charge it after multiple tire rotations and a brake job.

Can you try putting it into mode 1 and tightening something to see if it impacts and makes any torque? All the problems have been with mode 1, and most of the time the socket can be stopped from turning with just your hand.

Here's mode 1 for you but I'm not sure what you expect from 100 ft lbs. I might try it on my other impacts to see what happens. Honestly I bought this for max torque,if I want mode 1 I can use my other M18 or even M12 as it would be lighter.

I'm not sure what all the concern with mode 1 is either. I tried stopping my Snap on 1/2" and I can almost do it. I can stop the snap on 3/8 by hand. My new titanium IR is also almost stoppable by hand. What I'd like to see is a video of a Milwaukee in mode 1 that doesn't turn slow and can't be stopped by hand. I have 2 of the new guns and they work great. IMHO Mode 1 is for running bolts down, so you can torque by hand after, and for that it works well.

Mode 1 is supposed to make about 100 foot pounds of torque, which is ideal for tightening the most common lug nut sizes. Mine in mode 1 did not impact at all, and I bet it didn't even make 10 foot pounds of torque. The replacement will be here soon, as well as the 2nd one that I ordered, so I will report back on how they both perform.

Did you actually torque down a bolt and check it by another means?

It's 100 ft-lbs, but it's also only 7.5 impacts/second and 7 revolutions/second (less than 1/4 the speed of mode 2). Holding it and saying it doesn't rotate isn't a valid test because when you restrict it and it impacts, your skin has enough give to it that all the torque is dissipated (depending on how fat your hand is).

Yes, I tried it on a lugnut first, that's what made me realize it wasn't working correctly. It acted like a drill with a battery that was almost dead, and it didn't impact at all in mode 1. It would barely even snug up the nut. Mode 2 seemed to work ok, but I only tried it on a few lugnuts so I can't say if it was making the advertised torque or not. Many other people reported the exact same issue. I will have 2 more of them arriving soon, and I will update the other thread after I test them out.

I posted on the trucking site and they all wanted to know if it would do all 10 on 1 battery. The battery wasn't fresh off the charger when I started yesterday and I did that 1 lug twice just for the hell of it. Then I did all 10 today and retorque them and still had 1/2 battery remaining. I had my 6 yr old daughter filming today and unfortunately she stopped the recording after 1 lug. Oh well. I was also using a 1/2 to 3/4 adapter so I lost a little torque through that.

All in all I am very impressed with it. I took it over to the shop down the street to show them. They had just got the new SO gun in. Man is that light bright on the SO gun. We brought it over to my house to try it on the lugs. It wouldn't do it. But damn is that light bright!

Why not get the 2764 gun then if you're using 3/4 inch sockets? I'm guessing it's just the same gun with the bigger anvil which loses less torque per impact.

I think it's rated at 150 ft lbs more of nut busting.

Most of the time I will be using 1/2 drive. I would rather use a 1/2 to 3/4 adapter than a 3/4 to 1/2 since the reducer end is likely weaker.
