depends what you use it for, if homeowner you don't really need a bunch of batteries. honestly a 5.0amp and a compact 2.0amp would probably work for anything around the house/automobile.

are you looking at the m18? m12? impact wrenches/drills/saws?
the saws take a lot of batteries, i had the m12 fuel drill and impact driver and three batteries between them and for m18 fuel i had a high torque with a 5.0 and 2.0

what tools are you looking at? /and what tools will you be looking at possibly in the future?

depends how many batteried you have vs how many you use in a day. once you have enough you never run out, its silly to buy another with every tool.

You don't want an impact driver?

There is a pack out kit with for the sawzall, impact driver and hammer drill plus pack out box for $500 right now. I don't recall how many batteries come with that kit.

There is also a Fuel kit that packages only the sawzall and hammer drill (no impact driver) and no pack out box. I don't think it's that much cheaper than the pack out kit but it may have more or higher powered batteries.

I'd look closely at these kits and see exactly what tools are included but more importantly how many and what size batteries are included.

Which 1/2" impact did you want?

Im a DYIer and when i do a project the more batteries the better. I have 5 batteries, and between radio, flashlight, and tools its handy to keep one on the charger all the time.

I have a 1/2" compact, mid torque, 1/4" driver & a combi drill.

Out of that i only bought the 1/2" compact and combi drill as a kit, each came with 2 batteries and a charger.

I also bought 2, 2.0ah batteries separate to lighten up the tools a bit.

As above its always handy to have 1 battery on the charger or as a spare that's fully charged, the batteries last well and i have no complaints. Buying a few kits and a few bare tools worked out much cheaper also than buying all of the tools, batteries and chargers separately.

For home use you don't need fuel.
The brushed are already great tools.
Save yourself a load of money and get more tools.

Go Fuel, brushed drain batteries a lot faster specially grinders and circular saws.

I recommend starting with the drill/driver combo and then add bare tools. Usually 4+ tool combos comes with outdated versions or 1-2 worthless tools.

Okay, what about the impact driver? I suspect you're going to have better luck packaging multiple tools together if you include the impact driver. Whether that will save you money sufficient to get the impact driver for free I'm not so sure about. But in that kit I linked to above you're getting the impact driver and the pack out box for only $20 more. I think that's a bargain assuming the other tools are identical (read the specs and description closely).

I believe there were some kits around the holidays that included a free hi torque impact but I think they were either the brushed version or the previous Fuel version.

If you don't have any of the Milwaukee line now getting a kit is good just to get batteries and charger and then you can add bare tools and more batteries as you need them.

I will say that my fuel impact driver will loosen lug nuts on my F250 tightened to 150 ft lbs. That's something my old dewalt full size 1/2" impact wrench wouldn't do. If you buy the one key combo listed above you may want to get a 3/8" adapter for the impact driver and see if it works well enough to use as a impact wrench. That way the tool serves double duty.

Newbie price wise I think this is the best deal going right now if it interests you though its only good for a few more days at HD to give you tools.

Like others have said using a various sized socket adapters on the impact driver and its almost as good as having a sq. anvil compact impact wrench and you still can use other screw driving bits like star or hex plus 1/4 shank drive nutsetters.

Mid Torque impact wrench should handle most home owner chore I would say and of course you get the hammer drill your seeking.

Easier IMO to add a sawzall or hackzall bare tool or maybe with a free battery promo to round it out.

There is kit that gives you almost what your asking for though still driver over 3/8 wrench but has the High Torque and sawzall all FUEL. But I don't see it as that great of price deal

If the sawzall and xtra battery deal is still around (that was only about $200 before any stacked promos) and coupled with the first combo kit it is still several $100 less flashlight are like $40 and there also kits with batteries for around double that. So still spending less money and possibly have up to 2 xtra XC batteries

Your choice your money :eyecrazy:

That 3 tool kit looks pretty good value from HD. I mainly wanted the hi torque to break lug nuts as I switch tyres on the 4wd regularly and would be great to get this done quicker. It seems like I might have to piece together bare tools and try and get a tool in a kit with batteries. Waiting on a price of what a supplier will do for me with piecing together a kit

Mid torque will handle that fine and be lighter and smaller.

Can anyone help with model numbers. It is doing my head in lol there are so many whenever I try and search for items. I am after burshless M18 tools, is there anything in the model numbers that differentiate the brushless models?

I want a 1/2' M18 fuel; brushless impact compact mid torque - 2860-20
1/2' hammer dill - 2704-20
grinder - 2780-20
3/8' impact - will buy from aus as they are a good price here
Milwaukee circular saw - this looks like a good deal https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...-_-rv_thankyou_rr-_-300134851-_-300134851-_-N

Is there any where where I can get model numbers in some sort of ordered fashion?
