Milwaukee hackzall m12 or m18

Hi, I'm retiring my 14.4 Milwaukee stuff. I had figured on a m18 hackzall. I was hoping for a m18 fuel, would that be something that Milwaukee would make in the future?
I would like to keep all my batteries interchangeable.
I wouldn't mind going to the m12 stuff, if they made m12 heated socks.....

If you need M18 Fuel, just get the Fuel Sawzall, I got the bare tool for 150 something shipped.
For the Hackzall, the M12 is quite impressive, even without Fuel.

I've used both at work but have the M12 for use at home. It does everything I need it to so I have never felt the need to buy anything else.

The M18 Hackzall (brushed) cuts 100% exactly at the same speed & power as the M12 FUEL Hackzall (brushless).

I have used them both brand new out of the box & tried them side-by-side & other than the M12 feeling slightly better in the hand, the cutting performance is the same.

I would look at whichever tools (M12 or M18) that you want to expand into & choose one based on that. It will save you on buying more batteries and chargers.

I have both and a corded version.

Honestly I could make due with the M12 Hackzall and a corded version. I love the M12 for light weight or delicate demo work. Heavy work I use the corded version. Only time I use the M18 Sawzall is if I am doing heavy demo in an attic, but don't feel like taking a cord up, or if I am making a few cuts thru thick material, and again do not feel like dragging out a cord.

Edit to add that I use my M12 tools twice as much as the M18's just because they are small and easy to work in tight places, however when you need the extra power their is not getting past the M18

There is a huge difference between M12 and M18 if you're talking about the regular brushed versions. Regular M12 is pretty weak IMO and I use these tools professionally daily. M18 works very nice but they get pretty damn heavy after repetitive use, especially with the bigger 3.0-4.0 batteries. I'm actually surprised nobody mentioned the weight of the M18.

You may be kidding, and of course they don't make socks, but there's an adapter to run the heated gear on M18 batteries, so even if you stay exclusively M18 any existing heated gear is on the table.

I bought the M12 Fuel Hackzall and M18 Fuel Sawzall, best of both worlds i guess. My corded hasn't been out in a long time.

M18 heated socks, would that be 9 volts per foot? Ha Ha good to know about the voltage adapter.
The m18 weighs 4.45 # and has a 3/4 " stroke
The m12 weighs 2.2 # and has a 1/2 " stroke
I think I like the m18, a little heavier but more stroke.
