Milwaukee hammer drill malfunction

I have a lightly used Milwaukee 18V 1/2" chuck hammer drill/driver catalog# 2611-20. Today I used it to drill 3 holes in a concrete floor to anchor a grinder pedestal. I used the hammer drill feature, drilled my holes, mounted my pedestal, shifted the selector collar out of hammer mode back to drill mode and put it down. Problem is now the drill is hung in hammer drill mode. The mode selector collar will shift to all three positions but the tool stays in hammer mode. Anybody hear of this or have any suggestions? All other functions are normal, it's just a dedicated hammer drill now! WTF?

I had a Hilti hammerdrill do something similar, it was stuck in drill mode. Took it to the Hilti store in HD and they put a bit in it and smacked the end of the bit to the ground fairly hard a couple of times, came right out of drill mode then.

Try messing with forward/reverse and also going all the way to both stops on the clutch, my Bosch 18v was a bit clunky getting stuck in modes when I first got it but after a couple uses it works fine.

Pull the chuck away from the drill body and move the selector in and out of hammer mode a couple times, then into drill mode.

Great suggestions guys, It's still stuck in hammer mode though. Wierd right? Maybe I'll just kick it's balls up in a tree
