Milwaukee hand tools opinions

Just checking everyone's experience with these? Mainly the socket sets and wrenches. Have seen a few obviously paid promotions from when they came out but no 'real' reviews. Finally have these in store in Australia and got to check them out in person

I previously thought the square ended sockets were a bit gimmicky but holding them in the hand they feel pretty good, easy to work with in slippery situations

Wrenches felt quite good in the hand also, shape of the beam feels very natural

I am in Australia btw so comparing to sidchrome, kincrome, force etc.

I think Milwaukee has done a good job with the hand tools and they are worth a look.

I've got a set of their screwdrivers. I like them pretty well. Not the best I've owned but pretty good.

I have one of the 4 way screwdrivers - actually theirs is a six way I think and I like it a lot.

I have a few sets of the pliers - including a couple pair of the Knipex cobra type button push models. They are very heavy built and work well, but the ergonomics aren't as good as Knipex or even the Irwin models.

I love the Milwaukee fastback utility knives - they are my favorite

I have a small folding saw that uses reciprocating saw blades. I've only used it a couple times but it's a nice idea.

I have only played with their stuff in the store. I would say everything looks decent quality. Some stuff seems a bit gimmicky. Other stuff I don't see much of a reason to buy over the establishment tool of that kind hanging right next to it. The extendable pipe wrench has caught my eye that I'm going to grab one someday. Also their prybars look nice. As for their sockets and wrenches, look very nice, but to me way too expensive for big box store tools. All their other hand tools look to be on par price wise.

I really like their multi bit screwdrivers. Mainly because they use the long shank bits. Much prefer it over the klein. Sorry klein guys.

Milwaukee's hand tools seem higher quality than most non-pro brands. Ironically, I would not give the same assessment to their power tools.

By "wrenches" do you mean adjustable wrenches?
I'm quite impressed with Milwaukee's adjustable wrenches, the jaw is so tight , very little play.

I have the full SAE and metric combination wrench sets. I’ve been pleased with them for farm/old truck use. I was debating between them, Carlyle, or Channellock since they’re all 3 similar. The best price at the time was the Milwaukee so that’s why they ended up in my box.

I have a few screwdrivers, various pliers...diag cutters & so on. Don't have any wrenches or sockets.

No complaints most everything feels good in hand, imported yeah but much higher quality then anything you'll find at HF or house brand box stores, husky etc and I own a fair amount of husky. Also 90s USA craftsman, dewalt, some Klein, kobalt crescent blah blah and I'd rate husky higher then HF buy a long shot.

Only thing that's been a slight bummer is the folding utility knife...fastback? Folds small & blade change is easy but also hella loose & is small/awkward for my big paws. Came free with other stuff so can't ***** but also don't use it much.

I like the gear, fair price good quality so far... still buying more & more!

No way - one of the best tools made. And from the utility knife thread, I'm far from alone in saying that.

ok I need to somewhat retract my previous statement about the fastback knife...

After checking the knife I have is not the standard one with metal body & wire stripper but this compact version with a composite body & no spring release.

It came with a drywall jab saw for $10 I really bought it for the jabber which is pretty kickass, beefy handle & cuts quick & easy.

Still the utility knife sorta *****. Haven't had blades pop out but they wiggle and the whole thing feels sorta awkward. If anything now I'm curious about the real deal but also have more utility knives then I know what to do with.

I have the insulated screwdriver set and like them. The needle nose pliers seem good as well. I do like the stubby ratcheting multi-bit screwdriver. its gotten me out of a few jams.

No way - one of the best tools made. And from the utility knife thread, I'm far from alone in saying that.

I also had one that didn't retain the blade and I returned it. And then I tried another and it worked correctly and it's one of the best tools made. I think they had some manufacturing problems with the blade catch button.

I have the original screwdriver set, three of the mult-bit screwdriver, HV insulated screwdrivers, multiple nut drivers, several folding knives, dykes, needle nose, and the combo stripper needle nose cutter, small level, and a couple locking pliers....i have nothing bad to say about any of these tools. The only thing i do not like is the ratcheting screwdriver, i believe its 24 tooth.

I love their nut drivers, have used the jabsaw and adjustable wrenches happily. I'm not a fan of their electrical pliers (lineman, diagonal cutters, etc) but that's my trade... and I have sent 2 of their ratchets to the land fill covered in blood from my knuckles, there wont be a third.
