The Snap on guy was selling them so I bought one since my drills use the same battery thinking it might be nice to use on a winter junkyard trip but even on high it does not get hot enough for me,I am thinking my expectations were a little too high on this one.

I got the vest for Christmas.

Initially, I was thinking the same thing.

After wearing it for awhile now, it's better that it doesn't get too hot.

Especially if you're moving/working.

Just enough to take the chill off a bit, w/o baking you.

I bought one during rural king's Thanksgiving sale. I have used mine twice, once working outside in the upper 40's and once in the low 50's. It won't keep you as warm as if you were sitting next to a fire, but I can tell it's on. I would buy one again.

My Bosch jacket blocks the wind and fits close to the body for better heat transfer while wearing an inner shirt. My Milwaukee hoodie does not block the wind nor retain the heat as well as the jacket so its best under a heavy outer jacket or used alone on warmer days.

My wife loves the one I got her for Christmas. If you bought it from an authorized dealer, Milwaukee has a rebate going on some of them. Google Milwaukee heated jacket rebate and you can probably find it.

I have the Milwaukee heated hoodie, i agree im not a huge fan of it by itself but i purchased it to be worn under my heavy carhartt canvas jacket and it works great. Doesnt feel hot but after working outside all day in the low 20/high teens i wasnt cold at all.
The reason i bought the sweatshirt was to wear it under a heavier jacket so i would have better insulation around the heat.

I think the quote above is key.
I am very close to getting one myself.
If it would have been a colder winter where I live I'd probably have one by now.

The heated jacket is not the end all be all.
BUT, if you can sandwich the heat (any heat) between your body and the "outside" air it seems to be a winner.

Get a wool baselayer and you don't need a heavy jacket.
Heat issues are at fingers, neck, head, and feet. Not torso.
