Milwaukee hog ring

Apparently I used my 3/8 fuel impact with too many chrome sockets and the hog ring fell off. I have since ordered a new one and am waiting for it to arrive. What is the easiest/best way to install it? I had to install one on my old Makita and I could never get it right. I would expand them, try to walk them around the nose, tap with a hammer. It was a pain. If anyone has messed with them then you know it is a pain, or I am just not that smart.

Place the ring on top of the anvil, then push it into a tire or something rubber, and rock it in a circular motion.

I had this issue for along time until I went to impact sockets. I used a socket to push mine on. I can't remember how the repair center did it.

Put the ring on a block of metal, and push the anvil onto it while pivoting the tool along a conical path.

Had on replaced by my so guy he had a kit with different size rings and pliers that looked like snap ring pliers

I have done the same with my M12 impact. I only use impact sockets with it for this reason. "Just Clips" makes a repair kit that works well.
