Milwaukee Hydraulic Jack - Model 20 or 40?

Like everyone else, I like getting "the most bang for my buck." I'm an amateur mechanic and work on my own cars exclusively. I'm about as sporty as a sponge so I've got an Accord and a full size Chevrolet pickup. It is unlikely in the extreme that I'll have a low slung anything.

That said, I have settled on a Milwaukee jack because I like the best tools I can get - they are my indulgence. The 2 ton model 20 has a saddle height of 3 3/4" and the 4 ton model 40 has a saddle height of 4 5/8". I wonder if the 40 will fit under the average 4 door passenger car. I'd rather have too powerful a jack than an underpowered one. I may want a bigger truck one day!

Any insight from the Internet brain trust on this one?

Thanks!

I have the 20 and have been nothing but satisfied with it. I wanted the model 40 but between the price difference and shipping costs I couldn't justify it for a home garage.

For most passenger cars it should fit , however for those that are too low you can simply get a pair of 2x10's about 12" long and bevel one end so you can just drive the vehicle onto them and that will give you a bit more jack clearance if needed .

Thanks! I really, really want the 40 and that bit about the 2x10s is genius. A smarter man might have thought of it himself.
