I have a Milwaukee Impact driver that I've had for a year now( bout it at HD at last years Black Friday sale ). Recently started acting up, stops intermittently. Opened it up and the brushes are worn out already.

has anyone here had experience rebuilding these? Or are these a "disposable" tool that once it goes bad it's time for a new one...

We rebuild our drills at work all the time. Too much hassle to warranty a tool we use every day as they choose to rebuild instead of replace. Buy a brush card, wait a day or 2 for shipping, replace. Takes use about 2 hours and that includes cleaning and adding more grease.

Most Milwaukee tools are designed to be serviced when they act up. Certainly not what I would consider disposable, by design or practice.
