New Milwaukee Pliers, Cutters, Snips (preview)

I haven't seen these in person, but they look decent enough. Depending on how they're priced, they might have a chance in the market, but most of the electricians I know will never stick anything other than Klein or Channellock in their pouch.

Now that Milwaukee is owned by TTI, they'll put their name on just about anything to make a buck.

Still no word on COO or pricing. The stripper combo pliers look interesting, but the others seem kind of ho-hum to me.

Why is no one talking about what a high volume manufacturer like Milwaukee has to make in profit? They moved operations to China, didn't change the price, even though a drop in quality is always accompanied with that move.

Their screwdrivers (sold at H.D.) are Asian made ****, and priced higher than the USA made Husky Pros (Western Forge).

I recently bought some Milwaukee hand tools including multi-screwdriver, hand saw, and compact hacksaw. All of which was double the price I thought it should have been, but twice as disappointing! All of the pliers probably share those traits.

What was disappointing about them? Design or build quality?

Was just told that they were designed in the USA and are made by the "highest quality suppliers" in Taiwan.

I've seen some nice pliers from Taiwan, and also doubt that Milwaukee would go through the hassle of designing these pliers from the ground up to go with a sub-par manufacturer. I'll wait until I can handle one before making any strong judgements.
