I am about to pull the trigger on a Milwaukee m12 finger sander, but which one? I need help deciding between the 1/2x18" or the 3/8x13"

Will be used as a non-proffesional.

I have used the heck out of my Astro Pneumatic 18x1/2” sander. I can’t think of too many times a smaller one would have been needed. That being said, I’d probably get the smaller one if I were buying one today.

Recently got the M12 1/2"x18, went with this over smaller version for better reach and wider contact patch.

I like the 3/8x13. I use it mostly for cleaning rust from brake caliper brackets so the smaller size fits better

I have a 3/8" x 13" conversion kit on a milwaukee m12 cut-off tool, and a pneumatic 1/2" x 18 sander. I use both a ton, and while I usually reach for the Milwaukee first for quick jobs, that's because I don't have to grab and connect an air hose.

If I had both in m12, I think I would use the 1/2" x 18" more. I blow through belts pretty quickly on the little one, especially grinding on the contact wheel.
