Hey guys, I have a M12 inflator that is out of warranty (7/2018 manufacture) that is totally dead. Will not power on with a couple of different known good batteries. It's entirely possible that the kids splashed it with water the last time they used to to inflate pool toys... or it could have just happened on its own.

before I pay the $60 to repair/replace it, has anyone seen this condition and been able to recover from it?

Thanks.

no clue. it was last used by my kids to blow up pool toys, probably on the pool deck, with no supervision.

I’m seconding the opinion about terminal overheating. Those inflators are meant to top off low tires and not to run for long periods of time to fill large pool toys. Replacements are on sale at Amazon for 90 bucks. If I were you, I would get a foot pump inflator. Those are for low pressure high volume jobs like air mattresses, etc. The M12 is for relatively higher pressure and lower volume.

i blow them up myself with my compressor, but i won't allow the kids to use that unsupervised. i'll smack it with a screwdriver handle a couple of time :) and if that doesn't get it working i will probably take milwaukee up on their offer of a refurb for $60. I like to take it along on road trips just in case, or to let the kids air up their bikes.

Them using it to blow up pool toys was never part of my plan.

Thanks guys

I would take it apart to see if there is anything obvious.
My cordless vac got wet. A new circuit board fixed it.

Before you take it apart, do some research. I seem to remember there being some sort of reset. Not sure if it will help, but I would assume taking it apart will void whatever warranty you may have on it.

If something burned up inside, you should be able to smell it.

So update...smacking it with a screwdriver handle fixed it.. for now. some contact must have been/is loose. I don't hear anything when i shake it, and it seems to operate reliably now. go figure.

I have only tried one, but my corded air mattress blower will not blow up a pool toy. Not enough pressure to push past the valve
I have a special long tube to mechanically push the valve open for my low volume blower.
