These were in my store a few days ago. Kinda an odd combo as both tools are 1/4" hex. If you're a 1/4" hex fanatic, good deal.

I picked up the same kit over a year ago, both are still going strong, batteries as well!

I got the 1/4 hex for like $45 on Amazon a few months back - just the bare tool only. Wow, this thing really punches above it weight. For most light jobs, I grab it and the little hex accessory kit I have for it and go to town. Its a good, powerful little tools. I actually used it to drill a pilot hole for a drain plug in the bottom of a Dana 44 differential.

KC, what are the differences between the older models and the newer versions? Thanks for your help!

Honestly, I think just HD's PICTURE is old. The 2401 screwdriver still retains the same part # but has an updated look from the photo --the box I saw in store had a graphic of the new design. The 2462 is the updated brushed impact but the picture looks like the previous gen 2450. Per the text description this kit has the 2401 and 2462.

How does this impact compare to the Ryobi? I love the idea of a compact drill and driver, but not having two different brands.

geez, comparing these 2 are night and day. Anyone who owns Ryobi is settling.

Considering I'm quite happy with my Ryobi tools and can do the exact same stuff with them as brands costing 3x as much, I wouldn't call it settling. I asked how it compares because I could see a use for a small impact in tight spaces, but it's not worth it to me if it's only good for small jobs, short screws, etc.

A buddy switched to these, from his 18v ryobi, and loves them. Hangs drywall, light framing... His ryobis were the old blue ones, but he says these are lighter, and more powerful.

I didn't see the drill and impact when I looked today, just the screwdriver/impact. You should link it.
