comparing the new 2.0 batteries to my older 2.0 the batteries have a one key type symbol on the sticker on the bottom of the batteries. Anybody have any info on that?

I know what one key is. Are there one key batteries vs non one key batteries? If nobody knows I'll shoot a photo on here when I can

This is a very interesting question and I have never myself seen one key batteries. I don't know if they exist or not but it would be interesting if somebody did know.

The first two photos are of the new batteries. The second two are of my older ones. Both genuine Milwaukee. fd626fa105c3115fcc28c5c88614de73.jpg6b230ae31eaf2257d062c7855c573824.jpg7b60df2cdbd41db4d5604ee1addec4c7.jpg796753c78e81cee15aafa5616f86e2cd.jpg

All they did was put the Milwaukee lightning bolt on the battery. Been that way for a couple of years now. Nothing has changed. Is there some deep dark secret why you scratched out the date codes on the batteries. Why would anybody care? It's not like it's your Social Security number. That seemed weird.

All of their packs (well, at least the 2.0, 5.0, and 9.0) manufactured from early 2016 to present have that symbol. They also moved the serial number from on top of the battery (now a lightening bolt) to the bottom. The newer ones also no longer do the dance party lights if you hold down the fuel gauge button.

I have taken the covers off of a "ONE-KEY[emoji769]" 5.0 and an older 5.0 and the only difference I could tell was that their using different cells. To be fair, I didn't compare the circuit boards, but I'm not really an expert on electrical components. IIRC they "appeared" to be identical.

If you look on the bottom sticker of the first one I posted there's a one key symbol. That was the basis of this post. And what I scratched out I assumed was the serial number, I don't post those on any forum no matter the product.

I just looked at all mine tonight while charging up bunch for tomorrows work, all the newest ones (obviously purchased after One Key release) all have that code on the sticker 5.0 my big 9.0 and all the 2.0 those came with my drywall screw gun and 16ga finish nailer

I figure what ever circuitry involved is One Key compatible in some way wether or not the older batteries are beyond the obvious of just running the tool/motor dunno :headscrat

The lightning bolt marking has been around since my 4.0's though not all have that. Was for fast charger compatibility is what I understand.

I don't know guys.
I see the OneKey logo on the 3.0cp battery I just purchased and when I added it to the app I got a message asking since this item was a "OneKey" item would I like to add the extra parameters associated with the OneKey products.

Wish I took a screen shot.
