So they're marketing this compressor to carpenters/re-modelers with emphasis on use with nailers... But Milwaukee makes cordless M18 nailers too, right? Would a cordless compressor running a pneumatic nailer be better/more efficient than simply using a cordless nailer? What's the benefit?

Milwaukee tools are always priced high when they first come out. I'm not a carpenter, hopefully some will chime in. I suspect cordless nail guns work pretty well for finishing but aren't quite up to replacing big Hitachi guns for framing yet.

2 gallon seems pretty small. Hopefully the motor has a very high duty cycle.

They’re marking it towards someone who wants a cordless air compressor, it just so happens that small nail guns are the weakest thing you can advertise it as, other than saying “yeah this will **** for 90% of your use, but you may be able to use it as...

I wouldn’t mind having one for in the field brake bleeding with a pneumatic bleeder.

corded nailers are much lighter & more compact .
I can see a use for a cordless compressor, especially for small jobs .
If I was still in my prime, I would consider it ( as well if I had milwaukee platform)

Hitachi's battery nailers can easily keep up with their pneumatic nailers, at least for anything up to 3.5" nails. The biggest downside is a smaller nail capacity so you're refilling often. Along with recharging batteries vs an endless air supply. But as far as power, they aren't lacking one bit.

I just bought a small corded compressor for using with my nailers and to pump up tires too far away from the shop (we have 8 acres). A cordless one would be great, and I run the M18 platform, but that's way out of my budget.

This is what I am using. It is a 20 .lb liquid CO2 tank. I can shoot thousands of nails before needing to have the cylinder filled again. Best part is that it is silent (no compressor running inside a house)

DeWalt has had one out for a while running off their 60v system. I considered it for airing up tires at the track, but if anything it is more expensive still than the Milwaukee and I just can't make that make sense.

It's surprisingly quiet (IMO). I don't see how it wouldn't work very well for nailers. It ***** for OBA - too slow (but that's not what it was built for)

I think Milwaukee is just covering all possible worker preferences, smart on there part.

Group #1 - Want a ditch the compressors/pneumatic nailer, okay here are cordless nailers.

Group #2 - Don’t like/trust cordless nailers and still prefer pneumatic nailers. Okay here is a cordless compressor so you can go anywhere.

Cordless nailers are slow compared to air. They need a fraction on a second to "wind up" before you hit the trigger. Air will drive nails as fast as you can move.

Agreed- slow

my work Makita 16g nailer had been miss firing and slooow

While super convenient, in some situations it's a real pita.
