With the deals the last few weeks I've been purchasing M18 tools, batteries, etc to replace my v28/m28 tools/batteries.

I have the v28 right angle drill and it's rather 'beefy' compared to the m18 right angle drill, which means I'd need to replace it with a m18 hole hawg.

The M18 hole hawg seems to have negative reviews on amazon, home depot, and other 'retail stores' online. If it were just 1 or 2 on one site i'd think nothing of it but since it's all over the web it has me concerned.

How does everyone like their m18 hole hawg?
Is it a direct replacement for my v28/m28 right angle drill?

I rarely use it for wood, but when I do it's obviously the only tool that 'fits' for the job ;) the majority of usage is on my hole-saw tube notcher which is where the hole hawg (m18) would go as well.

I'm now debating if the hole hawg is worth the big price tag ($250 bare tool) or if I just want to use the 1/2 milwaukee arm-twisting, hole-saw snapping drill ;) that works awesome but is corded :(

Thoughts?

I'm in the same boat, I've been eyeing it for months. The best demo I've seen was from the Sparky Channel when he put it up against the Dewalt FlexVolt. It fared well considering the the Super Hawg might have been a better comparison. I saw the same reviews you did, I just don't know. If you hate it, you have 90 days to return it for any reason.

Well, we bought two for our electrical company this past spring. I've drilled out 5 houses with it now and use it for everyday use on small jobs. It is so handy and powerful and fast, it is a time and money saver.

I've only used it on wood, but it is awesome! Its amazing how many holes you can drill on just a single 5.0ah battery.

I've used it on hole saws as well, and it works perfectly.

I'm very happy with our purchase.

I have the M18 super hole hawg with the regular drill chuck and I love it. I just wish they had a plastic case for it. I replaced a corded super hole hawg with it and I think it's just as powerful.

Also my 3 7.2v snap on and 9 batteries I paid $100 for very handy as well as the Matco cordless 1/2 impact I paid $50 for it with 2 batteries, case and charger and it's a beast couldn't believe I got it so cheap I thought they forgot a 0 on the price on CL but hurried over there and price was right I couldn't get my money out fast enough had me shaking with joy when I loaded it in the car.

Your guys reviews are convincing me to give it a try
I wish they had a Hole Hawg + 9AH $249 deal right now though!! :shocking:

That'd make me jump on it!! I did see Home Depot discounted the standing light fixture + 5AH down to $199 from 249$ which makes it tempting if I needed a light. I don't want an excuse/reason to work out past dark though ;) ha ha.

May just have to wait and see if they bundle it with the 9AH!

I think you're lost.

glad I wasn't the only one that perplexed ;) LOL!!

When you wire a house it's nice to have a nice big variety of drills bits and hawgs in as many different lenghts shapes and sizes as you can get. Out of all the milwaukee tools I own the hawg feels like the best made it just has a heft to it. You will like it.
