I have a variety of their M18 tools but I am tired of small engine two stroke fuel issues. Just wondering if it's a great product or a so so? I like their M18 weed wacker and the extension saw.

Thanks

I like mine for what I use it for. I keep it next to my roll up doors and use it to blow out bits of trash that ends up just inside the bays and just outside to keep more from blowing in. I blow off my deck and steps too. I wouldn't try to blow my yard in the fall with it though. I suspect you would be disappointed if you tried that compared to a gas backpack blower.

One very unusual thing I used it for a couple months ago was to blow off bees from frames when harvesting honey from my hives.

My M18 blower is about all I use anymore. I have a full set of Stihl outdoor equipment that mostly stays in the shed now. I have almost the full line of M18 yard tools that get used in their place. Granted, I live in the city and have a small lot, but that blower packs a punch.

I am really enjoying mine. I like the variable speed trigger so I can leave it on the highest (rabbit) setting and just pull the trigger slightly in order to blow out leaves and grass from my landscaped rock area. Also I was really worried about battery life anxiety since I’m using an 8amp battery and, honestly, battery life has not been an issue. I have a typical 1/4 acre lot and I find that I do a combo of blowing things at full throttle and a lot at lower speeds. With my old blower it was simply always on at full tilt and I think a lot of folks assume that that’s how you have to use a blower but you really don’t. The blower is quite effective at quickly clearing a dry sidewalk of grass clipping at half throttle. I run my blower a good 45 minutes or so (enough to thoroughly do the front and back yard and even clear grass off my JD rider) and still have 1 bar left.

I’m seriously thinking of getting the weed wacker now.

The M18 outdoor tools are quality made, I have the string trimmer, and as part of that deal, got the leaf blower free. The quick lok power head came out right after I purchased the string trimmer- of course- !@ That makes things even better, since you can also get the tree trimming chainsaw attachment The blower is not that strong, and air power wise, is less powerful than most - all- ? of the competitors,,,, rigid, ryobi et all... my sons have those, and they are superior. I even tried to add a smaller piece to force the air through a smaller opening, but the motor is so weak, it made little to no difference. Glad I got it free. I should have picked the hedge trimmer. I am a heavy m18 and m12 user, so do not get me wrong. the String trimmer is a beast, better than many gas powered machines! The leaf blower, not so much.... ymmv

Blower is great for what I use it for: cleaning leaves and twigs off the driveway (and off the cars when necessary). No complaints.

I don't mean to pry, but what fuel issues do you typically have and what equipment do you use? I've got stihl equipment, never use ethanol, and try to keep gas as fresh as possible (don't buy too much at once, a gallon at a time if possible) and don't have any issues (knock on wood).

I've got 30+ trees on or 3/4 acre lot and started out with a gas handheld blower, then switched to a backpack. I have been considering the M18 for drying cars after the wash, and blowing off the driveway.

I’ve got just over an acre with probably 100 trees. Last year I switched everything over to M18 for OPE and it worked great, very highly recommended. I’ve got a ton of M18 batteries (as well as a few rapid chargers) so I’m able to blow off my entire property during leaf season without having to wait for any charging. For my size property you’ll need at least three 9.0Ah batteries to work continuously. I could probably get away with a 12.0 and a 9.0 if I tried, but as I said before batteries are not an issue for me. I’ve also got the trimmer and pole saw attachments, and they’ve been great too. The time I save in not having to maintain gas engines has been awesome. The only gas engines I have left are my snowblower and lawn tractor.

I have M18 blower it was free with the m18 chain saw Kit as a promotion.

While it’s not a as powerful gas models.........but still ....... Adequate for garage, shop, patio, driveway. The M18 would struggle with 8-12” of wet leaves in the fall drop.

I am on completely wooded lot. I use the M18 2-5 times per week. DriveWay and acorn clean up. Works great for the roof, valley and gutter clean up. Would differently buy again.

I am NOT retiring the gas blower. As for the gas, I use non ethanol in 1.5 gallon premix for the chain saw and blower. Usually lasts about 6-9 months. No concern of the gas going bad with ethanol free, plus Stabil for added protection. I do not leave gas in the carbs of motorcycles, snow blower, lawn mower or generators while in long term storage.

Also the that M18 chain saw with the 12.0 battery is a nice package. Light weight, quiet, decent power. No, I would not recommended for 65’ tall 30” diameter oak....... but.........any tree ( oak, pine, maple) up 12” diameter it works.

Mine was stolen and I'm glad it was. The problem with it is the pipe at the end it too big and it doesn't have the psi that I wanted. The second is the M18 platform isn't ideal for such a tool (I have 45 M18 tools so I'm clearly not a hater).

The hot setup is the 36V Makita that uses the two 18V batteries in series. They often have a super deal on this tool where you get the tool, the dual charger, the two batteries that come with the tool and then they give you an additional two batteries for free all 5.0 A-hr. The tube at the end is significantly smaller than the Milwaukee and produces a lot more blowing power to move **** - such as the stones we use out here in Phoenix for our front and back yards. The Milwaukee sucked on stones.

This.

Also the 8ah battery will last me two weed wack / blow sessions with my 8k SQ FT yard.

Have a half acre and somehow ended up with two blowers. Gen 1 and a gen 2. Gen 2 has a little more punch I think in part due to a more appropriately sized nozzle. I sometimes duel wield them when I am wanting for more CFM. Probably still not as much umph as the big stihl backpack blowers the professional landscapers use. For what they are and the packaging they aren’t bad. Good for getting up on a roof and blowing out gutters. Also good to have in the car to blowout all of the French fries and Cheerios my kids leave behind. Periodically I use mine to also dust the house. Might be a good compliment to a big blower backpack or a wheeled leaf blower if your primary use is going to be moving large amounts of leaves.

I haven't noticed any difference (aside from run time) in performance between the 9.0 battery and the 12.0 battery on my Gen 2 blower.

I don't have a 12.0 but the 8.0 gives slight power boost (more noticeable in the string trimmer and the fuel hackzall than the blower) and lasts longer than the 9.0

Agreed, but I stand by my previous statement, since I was only referring to blower performance as that's what this thread is about.

Ordered a small leaf blower Sun Joe SBJ597E-SJB on Amazon and I'm really happy with this unit. Although I use it to blow off debris from my garage and patio I find it to be quite powerful. The one thing I didn't like was the plug, I had to cut the plastic around it so I could plug it into an outlet.
I'm not sure it is a one "Joe family", but this leaf blower as good as his "brother" - our snow blower Snow Joe iON100V-21SB-CT.

Extremely disappointed in battery life.

If you have a postage stamp sized yard, you’ll be good.

I have the blower, weed wacker and the bush trimmer. I love all of them! I just told my wife yesterday that I haven't used our gas trimmer or blower all year! The batteries hold up and do very good in the blower! I highly recommend all of the Milwaukee garden tools!
Do some searching for it on youtube and you'll see good reviews also.

I have the 2724-20 M18 Fuel Blower.

Returned their 0884-20 M18 blower, that would have made a good key-board duster. LOL

The 2724-20 is used to clear off our deck, which is about 20' x 50'.

For the yard, I use a gas powered Stihl.

We have 3 acres that I trim with the M18 trimmer, but only really worry about leaves from 4 huge maple trees near the garage. The M18 blower is plenty for that, I got 40 minutes straight run time with a 12.0ah battery and had some power left when I was done.

Love mine. I've owned it over a year, and it works great. I have mostly 3.0 batteries, and never run down more than 2 batteries to leaf blow my smallish front and backyard + my deck.

I have one of the early ones, it's not powerful enough if you want to blow wet leaves off your lawn. But it is plenty powerful for cleaning leaves and lawn clippings off driveways, patios and decks.

Plus I have a 2 foot wide space between my garage and the neighbour's retaining wall. It's covered in 3/4 gravel, the blower will blow wet leaves from this space, and if I'm careful, none of the gravel. I used to rake out this area, and pull a lot of gravel out too.

One of the best purchases I’ve ever made. I’ve got a couple of the big batteries for it. I’ll never go back to a gas blower after using this one.
