What is the difference between a regular milwaukee item and it's fuel equivalent?

Thanx!

The short version: The Fuel line uses brushless motors which are more efficient and can be more powerful, but with added cost.

The very interesting thing here is that these Milwaukee brushless tools will not carry the Milwaukee “FUEL” name as their other M18 and M12 brushless currently does.

The FUEL will continue to be reserved for the high performance tools with the “POWERSTATE” brushless motor, as more of their cordless tools move to brushless it would appear they want to differentiate the various motor technology.

I've seen the "Brushless" but not "Fuel" in HD some time back . Had me confused for a little bit .

M18 has 3 tiers.. M18, M18 brushless, and M18 Fuel.

The regular m18 has standard DC electric motors and controls. Same technology that's been around for decades, but they are still very good and nothing to shrug off.

The m18 brushless get an AC brushless motor, and digital electronics. They are a more efficient tool, with better electronic load protection and longer runtimes through this advancement in technology. However, this level yields the same torque specs as the brushed level

The m18 fuel is their highest, strongest tier of cordless tools. It comes with the Brushless AC "Powerestate" motor, and digital electronics, and yields the highest torque specs Milwaukee has to offer, many of which are industry leading.. Any m18 battery can be used in any m18 tool.
