Milwaukee M18 XC3.0 and XC5.0 Battery differences

I bought some XC5.0 batteries to replace some XC3.0s so I wouldn't have to change batteries in the salvage yard.

The XC5.0 has the same chassis as the 3.0 and weighs about 1 oz. more. I opened up the battery and they have the same number of cells. The XC3.0 has blue cells and the XC5.0 has green.

Does this sound right? A battery with almost 2x the Ah rating is just different cells?

Yes, just higher capacity cells in the 5.0. A number of their battery packs are like this.

You can look up the numbers on the cells & to see their ratings.
