Good question on the warranty


Milwaukee warranty is considered from date of purchase with receipt to the original purchaser.

And the M12 and M18 XC Red Lithium batteries have a 3 year warranty.
(Compacts are 2 year)

No receipt than age for a warranty claim is determined from the date of manufacture.

So how long have the 5.0 been out. I believe they were released around the beginning of the 2015 so they are fairly new and started coming in all the new Gen2 tool kits.


CORDLESS BATTERY PACK – LIMITED WARRANTY


Warranty Registration is not necessary to obtain the applicable warranty on a MILWAUKEE battery pack. The manufacturing date of the product will be used to determine the warranty period if no proof of purchase is provided at the time warranty service is requested. Every MILWAUKEE Battery Pack (sold with cordless product and/or as a replacement battery pack) is warranted to the original purchaser only to be free from defects in material and workmanship. Subject to certain exceptions, MILWAUKEE will repair or replace a battery pack which, after examination, is determined by MILWAUKEE to be defective in material or workmanship for the stated warranty period from date of purchase. Return of the battery pack to a MILWAUKEE factory Service Center location or MILWAUKEE Authorized Service Station, freight prepaid and insured, is required.

A copy of the proof of purchase should be included with the return product. This warranty does not apply to damage that MILWAUKEE determines to be from repair s made or attempted by anyone other than MILWAUKEE authorized personnel, misuse, alterations, abuse, normal wear and tear, lack of maintenance, or

If they are anything like the makitas they can put them on a charger a factory repair location and read how many charge cycles are on the battery. I've had a makita calander wise was out of warranty but didn't have many charge cycles. They replaced it with a brand new one.
