Trying to decide between the Milwaukee 10” structured tote pacout or the Veto MB- MC tool bag with rubber base. Anyone with hands on experience with either. I am not invested in any pac out boxes. No longer in the field so just for home use and helping out family & Friends.
I probably don’t need something this expensive but buy once cry once. I always try to buy the best quality I can afford. I really like the rubber base on the Veto. Open to other recommendations.

Veto bags are pricey for sure, but much like yourself I also follow the GJ philosophy of "buy once, cry once". I have several Veto bags, both fully enclosed and an open version. They are fantastic. The build quality is the absolute best and there is no doubt that they will be around long after me. I would definitely recommend them, especially the fully zippered model which you identified. My biggest fear was always having a tool fall out when walking around. Be forewarned that they are quite heavy due to construction and materials, something which upon my experience is unavoidable to achieve the Veto durability. That said, whenever I need a new bag, I will only purchase Veto.

I always keep a Veto XL tote and a Veto open tool bag handy whenever I have to mobilize and help someone out.

I have the MC and its a little too short in height for all around general use. Hard to store a hammer, pliers or screwdrivers over 10” tall. I’d recommend the MCT instead which has the same footprint, but with more height.
For the OP’s uses, I would probably opt for an open top tote. It would be more user friendly and security/protection isn’t much of a concern.
My MC is a dedicated insulated electrical tool kit and works great for the purpose of keeping the tools from damage.

I love my Veto bag. I forget the model, but it is at least 15 years old. I used it doing commercial HVAC service for a few years, then I got out and went to sales, but I still carried it as I helped out contractors that were customers when they had equipment issues. Now I just keep it loaded up those times I need to do a repair in he house or at someone else's house.
