Milwaukee Packout Setup Screwup!!!!

I'm a bit OCD and I just wanted to let everyone know about Milwaukee's Packout Screwup.

The 20" Tool Tote and the 10" Tool Tote BOTH do NOT fill the space on top of a Packout. They both sit on the front two rows and nothing is on the back row.

If you get a 15" Tool Tote you can get TWO of those and completely fill the space.

It's annoying because my 20" Tool Tote makes my stack "front heavy" when it should be on the back two rows rather than the front two rows. If the Packout system had a locking cleat on the 2nd row it wouldn't be an issue but alas they don't.

I don't much appreciate it and I will eventually sell my 20" tote and buy a couple 15" totes. My 20" tote is nice for long tools like pipe wrenches and such... but now it's almost so heavy I don't want to move it.

The ONE situation where I appreciate it is if I'm hauling an extra toolbox that's not Packout and it stays firmly between the handle and toolbox. Maybe that was Milwaukee's intention but for my personal experience it's annoying not to have the locking cleat on the 2nd row.

Just thought I'd warn other people here of the issue.

I understand your gripe, not specifically, but I get it. I can't picture exactly what you're talking about but if it's something that's not specific to the way YOU pack things and work, it's too bad they missed the better design. I used to travel with, and work out of, Bosch L-Boxx's daily, and never found a single design flaw that stood out to me like that. If I had, it would have bugged me too. That stuff isn't cheap, you want it to improve your work flow.

And to think I was pissed when my ex-wife left me for a transgender morfidite after having both my dogs put down, then sunk my boat at the local waste water treatment plant and traded my pick up for a twelve pack of ole Milwaukee.

I'll stop complaining now. :(

Thank you... it's a fairly minor issue and it's literally one little hole in the top of the packout system would have solved it. I can put the 20" tote in the back holes but then it doesn't stay locked. If you tip it forward the tote slides out and then you end up with **** everywhere. Ask how I found that out. I would buy a "improved" organizer that had the 2nd row locking slots to solve the problem.

I've read the OP's complaint...and all the comments, but I still don't know what a Packout is. And no I won't google it..I've already wasted too much time typing this post..:D

I think I may actually have a packout. Does it look like a hand truck with a box on it? It came with an 18v press tool I bought.
Haven't even opened it yet.
Is it versatile? I plan on keeping it in my 7x16 bike trailer, as it is too big for me to work out of.

Bah my packout complaints are more substantial, plus of course nothing else can fit with the 20" tote, same goes with the large packout bag.

My complaints
Handles on the slim orgs stick out and not flush with the rest of the stack.
Cups on all the orgs are not reconfigurable, they have to stay in their dedicated slots.
Bags, totes, backpack, tech bag, cooler can only be mounted one way. The backpack & tech bag mounted together one has to have the front mounted inside, which is useless.
Organizer bins in the top/small box only fit in one way, cant be securely inserted in any other box and have zero versatility or interchanbility.
Handle on the bottom box does not go down all the way to be flush with the top of the box.
The bottom box doesnt sit flat, its tilted forward a little bit.
The inside of the boxes have to many indents, nooks, crannies, tabs, etc. They should be more flush and clean.
They are too expensive, especially the totes & bags.
I have been waiting for 9 MONTHS for the damn packout flat dolly to be released as promised!!
