Does anyone know what the part number "extension" means on Milwaukee tools?

For instance:
Circular Saw 3690-20 and 3690-21
Same saw and they are in consecutive order(20 then came 21).....makes sense.....
But what about drills like:
0299-20 and 0299-80 Same drill right?
OR
0234-1 and 0234-6....there is no 2, 3, 4, or 5's just -1, then -6.
is this a country of origin code possibly? Or maybe a plant number where is was made?

Anyone know?

In most current tools the second number usually indicates how the tool is packaged (bare tool, kit boxed, kit boxed with accessories, battery types and number, etc. The first part of the number is the basic tool model number.

last number means how many batteries. 20= bare tool, 21= one battery, 22= two batteries. At least that's my experience in their cordless tools.
